About the Traditional Nutrition Guild

The Traditional Nutrition Guild is a non-profit organization in New York State.

The TNG operates a private delivery club to enable consumers in the New York City area to purchase foods directly from regional farms. We focus on foods that are not easily available in any stores or greenmarkets in New York. Organic foods, milk products from pasture-fed livestock, pasture-raised poultry eggs, meats, and properly produced (according to Weston Price principles) whole foods are available directly from the local farms we work with. The club does not sell any foods directly.

History of the TNG
The TNG began as a "milk club" in Brooklyn in 2002 by the local chapter of WAPF. There were approximately 25 members in the original delivery club, and we bought products from a single dairy farmer. The website for the NYC chapter of WAPF was started in 2004 which enabled interested parties to sign up to become members of the delivery club. In 2006 the organizers decided to create a formal entity called the Traditional Nutrition Guild (to be a non profit company). One reason for this decision was that the Weston A. Price Foundation does not run or sponsor delivery clubs, even though they advocate for whole unprocessed foods. In 2007-2008, the TNG acquired its own website domain and bank account to carry on its mission of connecting consumers with farmers.

Disclaimer: The TNG does not give nutritional or medical advice. Please see a qualified medical professional if you are seeking treatment or advice for a medical condition. One source of information on the dietary and farming principles we follow in buying from farms can be found at the Weston A. Price Foundation.
